Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I went to change the spark plugs and wires although I was unable to get the sockets to fit the plugs. Who knows what to use and what size to get these darn plugs out!? Thanx

They should be 5/8" "peanut" plugs. There are 13/16" plugs on older cars.

Were you using a standard deep well spark plug socket? If not you need to.

I use a 12 inch extension for the plug tube, also use dielectric grease on all terminals, plug and coil pack, on threads I use antiseize on the threads, I know when I worked at a WHITE TRUCK DEALERSHIP, CAT has copper version, not sure the specs but they may wanted it for some reason.
