sounds like an "iffy" relay or ground to the panel...I'd simply grab a wirebrush and undo the bolt holding the other end of the black battery cable as it attaches to the chassis/ground and wirebrush till shiny, lug, spot and bolt and put them together again~

the relay is in the lower right hand corner...you could pull it and give it a sniff to see if it's burnt~

A quick thing you could do is locate your fuse box and take out each fuse and see if one has blown. It will probably take you 5 - 10 mins and fuses are under 5 bucks. You can get them at any little autoshop or autozone.
If it's a canadian van with daytime lights, your contorl module is defective or bad connection. It's an aluminum box and located in fron of fuse box under hood driver's side. A good wack usually gets it going for a while,
I managed to get it working again for about 6 weeks , all i did at that time as to remove and reinsert a number of fuses.. I read someplace too that the ground for the fuse box, which is located under the battery box should be cleaned.. did that too ... but ,, my lights have quit again just yesterday.. now going to try to replace what hey call the FCM , a sliver box mounted at front of fuse panel.. if this doesnt work they also say it could be the fuse box itself, which looks to be well over $500 just for the part, if you can find it .. at that point I may consider scrap vehicle
I fought with this problem for many months and in the end bought a used TIPM .. but may not have had to. What I was finding was that problem was worse when it rained.. When I removed original TIPM I found a lot of debris , twigs, etc., directly in the little space below TIPM,, this would get wet, retain water, and effect the electrical connections directly above. I may have been OK with the original by cleaning off the contacts, and of course clearing out all of the crud. Hope this helps someone
