O2 sensor keeps going bad

Asked by jamesf676 Apr 23, 2012 at 06:33 PM about the 2004 Dodge Caravan SXT FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I've replaced the mainstream O2 sensor 3 times, and it only lasts for about 200 miles before the check engine light comes back on.  The last time I replaced both sensors, and the light still came back on.  It keeps giving me a code that says P0032.

This is a heater element code. You may have an issue with the thermostat issue. If the thermostat is broken, which is rather common on this vehicle, the vehicle takes too long to heat up and the heater on the o2 sensor will stay on even though the exhaust is heating it. Does you heat get warm fast? Do you have a code reader that may display actual coolant temp?

Agree could be a thermostat issue or a pcm malfunction not turning on the heater for the oxygen sensor at cooler engine temps, ohm check the wiring first could have a break in the wire also.

Buy ,,Original 02 Sensor at the dealer shop...Because the heating element is not good..Thats Why it Keeps Burning The Heater..
