65 mustang 170 6cyl

Asked by go2hale Sep 24, 2018 at 04:42 PM about the 1965 Ford Mustang Convertible RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Starts and runs fine until idling toward a stop or idling going down hill. Carb floods with gas and I have to wait awhile to get it restarted. Any ideas?

sounds like the float/needle aren't doing their thing , you could pull just the top plate and see , lots of little details in a carb. it's not rocket science but a bit like brain surgery , buy new or farm the job out if you're not into it

I have replaced the Carb two times and still get the same result. Sorry, but thank you for the input.

I think you are getting poor quality rebuilt carburetors. Look for a better source.
