2004 Dakota won't start

I was told him 2004 there was an engine
modification that was made from the early half to
the late half an 04 I have a 2004 Dodge Dakota 4
wheel drive motor was blown and I bought another
one and I was told that it was not starting in the
starting issue is due to I have a late half o for
motor not an early half 04 can anyone help me and
let me know if this is true or what I can do as a
quick fix

Hi first of all what engine do you have in it and did you replace it with a new engine or a used one from a scrape/junk yard ...if a used one did you swap all your sensors over from your engine or used the ones that came with the engine...next try unplugging the cam sensor and starting it ...if its a 4.7 some of the early heads were not machined correctly and the sensors hit the cams shorting them out
