Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I have brand new tires and in the rain it
hydroplanes really bad to where you can hardly
drive it in the rain. Even when roads are dry and you
hit a bump in the road it fishtails. What could be
wrong?

look into a new set of struts.
They are new as well. I bought the car about a month and a half ago and it scares me to even drive on wet roads.

I have a 2005 Dodge Stratus R/T Coupe and got into an accident because the rear started fishtailing at about 25 miles per hour in 3 inches of snow. Prior to the accident the front and rear struts had been replaced with 4 quick strut's that includes new springs, struts & mount's all in one. I also replaced the sway bar links front and rear and had 4 new tires and front putter tie rods with an alignment. The front and rear control arms we're also replaced. After I repaired the front end damage to the car I still won't drive in the rain because it hydroplanes and even if it's dry and I hit a bump it sways around. It's almost like the suspension is to firm and kinda ramps over bump's instead of absorbing them! The suspension is at the proper stock height as the car already sits low. I'm starting to think this was a design flaw in the suspension set up from Mitsubishi and their have been accident's caused by this problem. Before I had the dodge stratus coupe I had a 03" Chrysler Lxi Coupe which was pretty much the same car just Chrysler badge and that car had the exact same problem! I'm thinking I might haft to get another car because it's not a safe car to drive!
