On my 1984 dodge d150 my radiator hose is
extremely hot way more then normal but the
temp gauge shows normal. And the radiator
or hoses don't leak is there a reason the
hoses are as extremely hot as they are

Are you sure the coolant temp sensor or dash gauge are working? Look up how to test a temp sending unit and verify yours is working.
