Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I own a  83 dodge ram with a 318 5.2L single
barrel carburator and after market electric fuel
pump . I've checked the fuel filter and it seems ok
the truck sometimes will drive for a while and then
act like it's running out of gas and it sputters and
dies while driving or at a stop even though it has a
full tank. I check under the hood and the fuel pump
is running but it won't have any gas in the line the
some times if it sits for a while url start up and
drives again. Does anybody have an explanation
for this?

How do I test the flow and pressure after I relocate it? And how do I find out if it has a regulated pressure?

It's also got metal lines not to far from the tank should I just mount the pump after the metal line?

good advice I would add one thing, it would be a good thing to also add a pressure control Regulator, it also goes inline, and controls how much pressure is used it won't let you get to much gas, or too little, it will also make your pump live longer
