I have a 2012 Camry, the electric fans are not working. The ac cools when you are moving but when you stop it does not, also if you are stopped too long the engine temp starts to raise.

I'm assuming Both fans will not run when you have the AC set to Max. We really need a wiring diagram for this make model and year...and...a Volt/Ohm meter for proper diagnosis. Without these 2 items...the best we can do is to check for blown fuses. Start at the under hood fuse/relay boxes. They should have indicators printed on the underside of the covers. There are usually more fuses located at the left and right side interior kick panels...as well as under the dash and perhaps behind the glove boxes. Without Technical repair info....we are just guessing as to what to replace. What engine is in this vehicle?
I did replace the fan relay in the fuse box in the engine compartment. I took it to autozone and the plugged it in to their computer and it shows a code for a sensor and it says to replace the compressor but but there's nothing wrong with the compressor.
Need to know the Alfa/numerical code(s). Did they give you a print out of their scanner results?
No, but they said it was a high pressure senor and that it controled both fans.
OK...well without knowing the code....I could only guess. Toyota traditionally used a "Triple Pressure Switch" to control their AC Systems. Unless that HP Sw. you refer to is mounted in the AC Compressor....I see no need for compressor replacement at this time. It's a guessing game with out more diagnostic info.
You might consider another trip to AutoZone for a repeat scan.
Okay, autozone's computer does not show any codes, The Toyota dealer wants like a $100 just to plug in their computer and tell me whats wrong. I can't believe no one's ever had this problem. I am at wits end......
I understand your frustration. These fans are probably computer controlled. Need a wiring diagram for this Make/Model/Year...and...a Digital Volt/Ohm meter. BTW...regarding that high pressure sensor diagnosis. I do not remember such on or in a Toyota Compressor. I remember such a sensor installed on the High side refrigerant line. I do remember a speed sensor....and a Flow Valve in these compressors. I could be wrong. More research required. Try following the thinner of the 2 hoses coming out of the Compressor. That's the High Side of the system. You should be able to find that HP Switch...probably 2 wires coming out of it.
So.....what's new? Hopefully you issue has been resolved?
Did you ever find out what the problem was? I have same make and model and am having same issues! Changed out fan assembly, relay switch, and control temperature sensor! Still fans will not turn on when car is idle and AC is blowing!
Suggest you call up local auto parts stores and ask if they can SCAN your computers on this vehicle for free. Write down code numbers and descriptions and get back to us with results.
