a/c light blinks a/c does not work   sometimes squeling at start up but not long

That light blinking means you have a malfunction of the AC circuit. Could be a sensor, could be the compressor is shot. It tries to spin the clutch and it binds up. This puts it in shut off mode and most likely your belt is squealing because it's slipping on the AC condenser pulley.
