use a codereader to get to the bottom of this~ CEL usually means 02 sensor to start with, but certainly could be some or other system playin' hell-

you can live without traction control or clobbering the catalytic converter for a while....then comes the $$$- so change the 02, find out what components are responsbile for traction control and find out what the computer wants to say to us.

X2 on getting the codes read to find out what has failed. Clear that CEL and the TRAC light thing might clear too.

i have a 2015 tacoma 4x4. the check engine and trac off came on while driving. After trying to fix through gas cap, etc took to dealership (warranty) it turned out to be oil regulator. They said I could still drive it and it won't hurt the engine. they replaced the regulator

Tacoma 2015, trac light and SEL came on out of nowhere, truck is 30,000 miles pretty new. Googled it seems the rubber seal on the gas cap is faulty, disconnecting the battery for 2 minutes removes the lights, save a trip to the dealership.

Disconnected the battery for few minutes. Put it back again, trac off and engine lights are gone.

Does anyone experience difficult shifting the auto trans when the lights come on? I've had this happen a couple of times, it goes away when I add gas and/or tighten the gas cap, but it is annoying!
