Won't crank? Cranks but won't start? Starts and dies?
Begin with the basics. Check the pressure on the fuel rail, If it is good, then check for fire (spark) at the plugs, then make sure there is no obstruction delivering air into the combustion process.
This may apply to your vehicle if is a V6. The 2003 has two cam timing chains, one for each side. The guide is notorious for going out and requires replacing. It's not easy for the front chain and the engine has to come out of the vehicle to replace the one in the rear.
