Cvt transmission won't upshift

It is a Nissan POS CVT. Nuff said?
We have a 2012 nissan rogue awd s series( sport model) with a cvt transmission, july in the morning my went to the store, car ran fine, 8 hrs later my wife went to store same day, the transmission shifts fine, no jolts or jerks, only issue is it won't upshift out of 1st gear, mechanics telling me it needs another transmission, between 3k and 5k to fix, and this is with another used transmission to have the same issues later on, is this transmission fixable, if not what is are options?
So what you are saying is the trany is done! ?
Most likely it is done. Sadly, most Nissan CVT's are done the day they drive off the lot.
All the research i have done i would have to agree, but yet they still put this junk in these cars and sell them to the public, and everyone keeps buying them, there is still lawsuits against the nissan corp over 9 of thier cars, they have this cvt trans in them, right up to the 2017 yr, '18 & '19 still has low miles, my car is 7 yrs old, if i change this transmission it will be it's third transmission from the day the first owner drove it off the lot new. I also found out as far as the warranty companies are concerned as long as the transmission that you are replacing with is under 50,000 mls, it is considered new, to put this in dollars, a new transmission can be $3700 and up just for the transmission, not counting labor, the cheapest used under 50k i found was $1450 plus tax and labor, but it is used! I was told within 24 months i could be changing it again! You would think someone would step in for the consumer on this issue. Everyone is making a dollar, the consumer is paying that dollar before and after the car is paid for, as a trade in the dealer will only give a couple hundred dollars, they will resell it, maybe at a profit! Someone will buy the car and most likely replace the transmission themselves! And resell it for a profit for the same thing to happen to the new owner! Nissan isn't the only companies having issies with thier cvt transmissions, there is others, you just need to look! I know I will never buy any vehicle, don't care the make, domestic or foreign, that has a cvt transmission in it. Thank you for your response.
Yes research is key before buying any vehicle. But sometimes you have to learn the hard way.
