my knee hit the light control knob and pushed it in.  how do I pull it back into place? I removed the panels but could not get my hand behind the knob to push it back in place.

I did the same thing. LOL. I'm pretty sure the little panel pops right out. I was able to fix it with out parts. Just have to find the right tool to limit the pry marks!!!

Did you get it? I went out and tried it on my work truck but then I noticed that the trim pieces are different. The dimmer and headlight knob are one piece and clip to the trim piece from the back. You have 4x4 and I believe it's on the same piece. Here is a pic of the piece with the headlight/dimmer and 4x4 switches. You can see the small tabs that hold the switches in and the larger ones that hold it to the dash.

Thanks Yetilikesbeer... it has snowed here and I have not had a chance to try.. I did try the other day to take all the trim pieces off under and on the side exposing the fuse box. there was a blue handle that looked like it locked the fuse box in. I was afraid to remove it since it is a newer vehicle and I sure didn't need to break it. I was trying to fit my handle behind the light switch you were able to pull out. the light dimmer control knob is actually slightly pushed behind the dash panel. There is a black dash cover around these knobs. did it snap off for you? Thanks for all your help

Mine was the truck and it has a one piece unit that includes the heater vent and goes from the edge of the dash to the column. Judging by the release tabs on that fuzzzy pic that I found it should pop out.

My knee also hit the light control knob and pushed it in on my 2012 Tahoe. I was able to use a medium-size regular screwdriver to pry and pop out the little console. Once that was out, I was able to push the knob into place and then replace the little console. Thank you to those who posted above to help me figure this out. I am tall and my knee may hit and push in that knob again.
