Question type: Maintenance & Repair
Bought a 2012 Chevy equinox at a dealership it now has 127k miles on it. It did have a loud rattle when idling and had excessive oil consumption. Recently the timing belt jumped and cuased more issues to the motor resulting in basically a new engine. I Called GM and im waiting for a supervisor to contact me back on what they can help me out on. Im expecting the worse and wishing for the best. As of now im looking at over 5,000$ worth of damage to be fixed. Iv read all the posting on this site and wonder if theres any good outcome for my situation

Same thing Happened to my 2012 Equinox too back in December! Cost me a little over 3k. And now I had it towed back to the dealer...this time is the Transfer Case that has to be replaced, $3832 to fix. I have about 127,000 miles on my car. Might be time to let it go
MY 2012 equinox has a loud rattling noise and squeaks a lot---the squeaky sound i think is coming from the tires.

I have a 2011 Equinox. I bought it new but all warrenty were expired. IiT was put on oil consumption monitoring in December 2018. Dealer was able to add the warranty to my car. WARRANTY # 12313, to repair oil consumption issue was done this week. Work done : see photo new pistons, rings new water pump chain, new timing chain. Took it apart, put it back together, new gaskets, seals etc.. NO CHARGE.
RubyDriveThem how do I go about finding out about this recall issue!? I am currently having these issues with mine and have not received any mail about this recall!!!
