Chip key will not keep the car
running

IF this is the same key that's been used over and over and now suddenly the car starts up, runs a couple seconds and shuts off....... I've had to replace the ignition in a Durango for that problem, the immobilizer (thing that 'reads' the chip) is part of the ignition. It was a couple hundred bucks and had to be reprogrammed.....but be careful, the other possibility is the PCM itself. It's kind of a toss of the Dice unless you get it properly Diagnosed !!
