interior light fuse keeps tripping

Asked by GuruXB56P Oct 19, 2018 at 05:29 PM about the 2012 Honda Pilot EX-L with Nav 4WD

I've replaced the fuse for the interior lights (7.5a) more than 4 times within a
6-month period. I'm not sure where the short is.  I tested it with a 10a fuse
(yes, i realize that's a no-no) 2 days ago, and it shorted today, indicating that
the interior lights are drawing 10 amps on a line that is rated for lower
amperage.  

I thought it may be the phone charger I've been using; however, the cigarette
lighter still charges the phone after the interior light fuse is blown.

Any ideas?

Hey... does that fuse (#14 I think) control the center console instrumentation lights? and is it related to the 12VDC lighter socket there?

I have the exact same issue with 2016 Honda Pilot. I have not been able to find a cause. Any ideas??
