Question type: Maintenance & Repair
My vtm 4 and emission light came on a few days
ago. I saw that it could be a gas cap was not
connected tried it nothing. Then today the low level
oil light came on. It appears there is oil leaking
under the engine. The oil is out all the way. Is
something leaking that can be fixed how big of a
deal is this?? Please help. Thanks

I am sure the oil leak can be fix, but make sure the oil level is full in the meantime.
And it takes a while for the gas cap code to clear otherwise it can be done with a scanner.
There is an emissions system issue in the 2016 Honda Pilot and many of the newer pilots. My 2016 Pilot has been at the dealer 4 times for this issue. Thankfully, mine is still under warranty but only for 3 more weeks. If you have a continuing problem with the emission indicator light I urge you to file a complaint with Honda Customer Relations at 800-999-1009. There is a ton of information if you google Honda Pilot Emission issues. I am hoping as many people are that Honda does a recall for this issue.
2016 Pilot EXL owner, 61,000 miles. Emissions system warning light came on. Diagnosis indicated fuel injectors needed to be replaced - code P0420. LUCKILY repair covered under 7 years 70,000 warranty otherwise $1,200+ repair. Service manager said you must get software upgrade for 2016 pilot to get correct diagnosis on this issue. Urging all 2016 Pilot owners to get software upgrade and press dealership on replacing fuel injectors while warranty in place - they will go bad - question of time since it's a known issue for this model.
