My temperature gauge is going up in traffic and down when driving. What's the
issue?

bad thermostat ? Don't buy cheap , go to the dealer . yeah , it's going to be about $45** but you can depend on it ,

Sounds like its doing what it is supposed to but if it makes you uncomfortable, change it out. You can save a few bucks if you are capable of doing it yourself. It is a simple task.
