This could be a bad oil pressure sensor,or wrong weight oil causing this.

If it is sensor it would be ok,but you may need to have the pressure checked to make sure that is the true issue or could risk damage to engine,if oil pump is bad it will hurt the engine to run it that way.

I wouldn't drive it. Have it towed and have them check oil pressure to confirm.

I have a 2014 Kia Optima, about 3 weeks ago the air started blowing hot air and then while driving it, the car just turned off. I drove it home 10 hrs later. while on the freeway it shut off again. I put in neutral and started it again. the next day I took it to the shop. they said it only had a quart an half left in the motor and the motor was shot!. the warning lights NEVER turned on. Please help!

GuruVML5P This is an old post but if the engine is already shot, what kind of help do you need. Just make sure when u replace or repair the engine, make sure to test the oil pressure sensor and circuit

@GuruR5XYV This is an old trend. U need to start a new one but. If oil level, type, oil switch and pressure are all verified, check wiring from oil pressure sensor.

I have my own Kia Soul 2016. The display show the red light oil symbol is blinking (not on permanently), is it meant the oil filter need to be replaced? I checked the oil level is near full.
