Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2002 Dakota sounded like a C-17 taking off, so I replaced the fan clutch with a new one and the sound was worse than before.  When I replaced the clutch, I made certain that the fan went back on the same way it came off.  This is a straight-forward job, other than the new fan being defective, I'm not certain what could be wrong.  Any suggestions before I remove the new clutch and warranty it out?

Thanks for the response. I warrantied the replacement OEM clutch, got another one which is exactly the same as the original replacement. They were both thermatic so it turns out that the original replacement clutch was faulty. All is good.
