Depends on how the truck was maintained by the previous owner. Appears the previous owner put over 20K miles a year on the vehicle. Is the seller a dealer or private party? Ask for maintenance records. How do the brakes feel? Check the fluid in sight glass on the master cylinder. Is it almost clear/yellow or black? Being black means the fluid has probably never been changed. Look at the level of the brake fluid. Unless the brakes have been recently changed, the level should be lower than at the full mark, as the level drops as brakes wear. Check the air filter? Does it appear to have been in the vehicle for eight years without being changed? Has the transmission fluid and filter been changed? What do the tires look like? Check for uneven tire wear on the front. If the tires appear new, look at the spare for wear patterns. If the spare appears new, but filthy, you will probably need a new spare as it may be dry-rot. Check for cracks along the sidewall. etc. etc. etc.

Own a 2012 platinum f150, have 155,900 miles on it. Only had to replace coil packs at 100,000 miles plus regular maintenance. No major issues. 2nd set of tires brakes checked this week, still have half life. Added corsa exhaust cat-back, Livewire tuner , cold air intake, larger throttle body, warn winch with iron cross bumper, sprayed in rhino bed liner and upgraded headlights all just because of preference. Been an awesome truck.

I just traded in my 2010 Lariat. I had 214900 on it. Regular maintenance and not abusing it is key to the life expectancy. I was going to keep it until 300k but the deals were too good to pass up right now.

My 2014 is now over 215,000 miles and doing great. Regular maintenance with synthetic oil and always use quality gas. I’m figuring at least another 100,000 miles!
