Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I just inherited a 2004 Ford Focus ZX5 with a little over 76,000 miles so I already know it's going to have some issues here and there. My main concern at the moment is when the car is stopped at a light and idling, it sounds like the idle skips/hiccups in it's rhythm. It's very random and doesn't happen at every stop and there is no set pattern to the change. I have a 2005 Ford Focus ZX4 and I've never encountered this problem with mine (it has a little over 131,000 miles). Any ideas on what it could be causing this? Thanks!

No and that's where the issue lays, I called Ford and they told me they can't pull codes if there is no check engine light. It doesn't seem to do it while the car is maintaining speed or at least I haven't caught it.

Yes check if possible all and I mean ALL the vacumm hoses..such as the ones on the intake manifold.....because my focus also has many vacumm issues that I am currently dealing with. It just takes a leak or a very cracked up one that is in bad condition. Sometimes the heat under the hood cooks up these things. Do yourself a favor find a really good friend that is a mechanic that can be trusted to check into this...good luck
