Should I fix it or trade it?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I have a 2012 Subaru Outback with 175,000 miles on it. It has an oil leak and I
have been quoted $3500 to fix. I LOVE this car. Would it be worth it to fix it or
should I start looking for something else?

Check for rust or rot around suspension points , and go by how bad it is . Maybe invest in a set of tools and see if you can fix it .
The leak may not be worth fixing. How bad is the leak?

It’s not leaking out on the ground so I don’t really know but I put about 2 quarts of oil in between oil changes depending on how much I drive it.
That's a ridculous quote to chase ANY oil leak on the old t-belt 2000-2012 SOHC 2.5i as yours. Worst case you've a dripping right HG, wherein full HG replacement (and t-belt, pulleys) for both sides is high teens. But before you proceed, try using 5w30 synth instead of the dastardly US-spec 0w20 to see if the leak quenches nicely. In warmer climes use 10w40 for even better resulta. You won't hurt ANYTHING, and potentially stave off chasing minor seepage. Good luck. Ern
