Timing Belt replacement at 100K miles for 2012 Forester

If your engine has the plastic timing belt cover (EJ engine) you need a belt change at 105,000 miles. If you have the FB engine it has a timing chain.

Answer is NO...it has a chain...and iridium spark plugs, so just keep it clean and replace oil with 5w30 semi-annually. Your worry is only the fragile first gen CVT.
