Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My turns signal would work and then stop while drivind in the middle of a turn. Decided to replace flasher relay under steering column used part from NAPA flasher # ep-27. Worked fine when i plugged new one in for a few seconds then tried flashers and then nothing worked? Removed new relay and plugged back in a few times and even plugged back into old one that was working intermittently still not working. The 10 amp fuse is good so im stumped. Could one of the wires from back of plug come lose and if so how can i correct this ? Thanks for any help

I would check wiring or combination switch on steering column.

I'd check the flasher, not the switch but the little plug in box that makes the lights flash.

found another 20 amp fuse that blew out. The relay i brought keeps blowing out so its the relay that is causing the problem.

I'm having the exact same issue - signal would blink once or twice. I swapped w/ NAPA EP-27 and the turn signals work. Then I tested flashers and they didn't work and the turn signals wouldn't even work after that... Did you ever figure out the issue?

I read a forum a little while back when my airbag light kept going off and on for no reason while driving down the road. The forum said that when the airbag module starts to go out, the airbag light will start going off and on. Apparently when this happens, other problems will start to occur, such as turning signal failure, headlight failure and a few other problems. If you see the airbag light on where your gauges are and you know the fuse is good, then it maybe the airbag module that is causing all these problems. I don't really get it but apparently it's legit

My mom is having the same issue with her 2002 Dodge Intrepid. When the airbag light is on. The flasher relay starts to buzz and the power windows and ac stops working. I removed the steer wheel panel and notice there could be something wrong with the clock spring or possible a wire with a shortage running to it. Once the airbag light goes out, everything starts to work just fine. I also notice when I mess with the tilt of the steering wheel, it causes the light to either come on or go out. Also when you cycle the key on and of it makes it go away for me. Just make the airbag likes goes off. And I also tried to replace the relay and the part store kept giving me the wrong one make sure get the right one and not just a regular relay. It has to be a hazard flasher relay. They kept giving me a ac relay.
