My fan is not working?

Asked by Anita May 17, 2023 at 04:31 PM about the 2000 Dodge Intrepid R/T FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I had mine radiator replaced and when the
person that replaced my radiator they did
not fix my fan shroud to my radiator so my
fan shroud fell forward which caused the
fans to rub my wires to where my fan didn't
work anymore I had those wires rewired
and my fan still not working so I'm
wondering if do you think it blown a fuse
could that be possible I'm thinking one of
the the regular fuses are all fine but I'm
thinking one of the square square ones
that go underneath my hood

Yes the fuse for the engine cooling fan will be in the power distribution box, however if the fan motor was under stress for too long it could have burnt itself out. You can jumper wire the fan motor and see if it runs. If it does run jumped and the fuse is not blown then you either have further wiring damage, the fan switch or relay are shot.
