Hot light comes on but its not hot.and it want let me drive it

Make sure the wire is on the temperature sending unit, check that connection. Otherwise replace the temp. sending unit.

Sounds as if it has do with the wiring , check all connections...

Ditto Rowefast, if it's a 4 cylinder the temp sending unit sits in between cyl 2-3 and will get immersed in any liquid available causing damaged a damaged connector/wire/sensor.
