I just purchased a 2012 VW Jetta Sel Battery
drained replace with new Battery Alarm and
wipers comes on won't stop.

let me tell you what happened, the battery was installed in reverse. My battery cables were red negative and black positive so be very careful on new models of VW, from 2012.

This is exactly right ... you have to be careful. Look at the battery for which pole is + and which is -, don't go by the colors on either your jumper cables or when connecting the battery. If you put them on backwards all hell breaks loose ... horn, lights, wipers all come on. And there is a chance you can blow the command module which is a $1000 repair.
