I was quoted from a reputable car mechanic that has been working on my cars and friends cars, I have a coolant leak on my 2013 Ford Explorer deluxe package, he checked it out and said I need a water pump and since he's doing that I should renew the timing chain & belts. Vehicle has 95,000 miles, immaculate condition. He said very labor intensive, about $ 2000.00, what do you all think.

The service interval for most Ford timing belts is around 100K miles. Doesn't mean timing belt actually needs to be replaced though, but it does make sense to do it when you already have the front of the engine opened up. That said, you can call up a number of shops and get price quotes. I've dumped mechanics in the past when I found them over charging me.

Timing chains are not a routine maintenance issue. Ask him why he wants you to replace it. The only legitimate reason I know of is if it has a bad rattle.
