Outside temp

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
My outside temp is not reading accurately. It's been about
80 outside and it will tell me its between 20 or 30. When
this happens it also messes with the ac. It starts blowing
warm air when the temp outside messes up. No idea what
to do.

The ambient temperature sensor is the first thing I would check. Check the wiring too. It would be in the front of the SUV in the bumper area or under. Sometime the wiring gets corroded or the switch is damaged.
Check to make sure you are not reading the temp in degrees CELCIOUS. 80 degrees Fahrenheit converts to about 24 degrees Celcious. Changing it is usually a menu selection or a dash switch in your vehicle.
Im having the same issue 2011. Did you figure out the problem?
My temperature reading seems to stick when I first start my 2018 Escape. It takes, at a minimum of 10 to 15 minutes to change (when it does). Sometimes I can be driving for over 1 hour with the temperature reading not moving from the incorrect reading. How can a Ford dealership Service group tell the difference between a sensor problem and a software problem?
Did you figured this problem out?? My 2015 Ford Explorer is having the same issue!
