Catalytic converter on a Didge 2001 Caravan

Asked by Eos_4698 Jan 20, 2017 at 11:56 AM about the 2001 Dodge Caravan SE FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I am getting ready to trade in my 2001 Dodge Caravan for a newer model.
The catalytic converter light indicates there is an emissions problem. I am
concerned that the car might stop suddenly in traffic going to the dealership
30 minutes away. Can that happen with a faulty catalytic converter?  I
rarely drive more than  40 miles round trip anywhere, and I realize this may
have contributed to my emissions problem. The car is not giving off bad
odors nor is it hesitating at all.
