You geographic location may affect your price, but $4,500 is grossly high for anywhere in the US. Look for low mileage used ones or remanufactured ones. Even rebuilding the one you have shouldn't cost anywhere near 4,500.

I have a 2013 Escape SEL. Just got estimate yesterday from a Ford dealership...$5000 for transmission. Got another estimate today from a transmission shop...$4000 for a rebuilt trans with 100k mile/3 year warranty, or $3400 for a used trans with 50k miles and one year warranty. I live in Michigan.

LynneR2019, I live in Michigan too. I would take the used trans w/50k, but have you priced anywhere online? Let me know where you were able to purchase the transmission from if you do not mind. tx, S
