How to fix radio static??

Asked by Carol Mar 19, 2020 at 04:14 PM about the 2013 Dodge Dart SXT FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2013 Dodge Dart SXT.  The AM/FM radio has tons of static when
trying to listen.  Ordered a new antenna that came in today, installed with no
issue...but didnt improve the static.  Do I need to replace the roof mount as well
as the new antenna?  Any suggestions would be great and appreciated.

You can purchase a static suppressor and try that. It is cheap and goes in-line with the antenna lead to the radio. Also try relocating the antenna away from the engine and the car's electronics/ignition parts.
