Radiator Fan Running After Engine Is Off

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

After my boyfriend turns off his 2013 Chevy
Malibu, the radiator fan continues to run. We have
not tested to see for how long because we don't
want to risk draining the battery. The odd thing is
that if he turns the car back on and then shuts it
off again, the fan immediately turns off. His levels
are fine and his car isn't running hot at all, it's
actually a little cooler since he changed his oil and
filter. Could the fan turning immediately off the
second time around indicate something electrical,
like a fuse?

If the fan runs for a few minutes it is normal.

Update: the car had a hard time starting leaving work, it rumbled quite a bit and took a couple tries to maintain the start. The dial for his temp gauge didnt move at all driving home. First time this has happened. Can any of this be connected?
