Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2013 Malibu. Temperature hand not moving
for 4 days. All of a sudden it started working.
Next, car won't crank without a jump. It just
make clicking noise but car all of sudden
cranks right up for last 2 days with no
problems. I've ordered a coolant thermostat.
Any suggestions on this.?

the thermostat is not the starting issue, I would check the wiring behind the instrument panel first

Do you think I still need a thermostat due to fact that the temperature hand didn't move and caused my engine to overheat?
