Hole in piston

My Kia Sorento is
running terribly! It
passed the metal
shavings test last fall
but now I find out that I
might have a hole in
one of my pistons.
What should I do?

I would get a few opinions to be sure, but if there is a hole in the piston then the options are limited. New engine or a used low miles engine installed or a full rebuild or just get a different vehicle.

My car is now at a Kia Tech . They want to charge me $850 to breakdown my engine to see if the head gasket is bad. Does this sound correct?

Did you have a compression test yet? A bad head gasket shows signs of an issue without doing exploratory surgery on the engine.
