My BMW X3 2013 with 50,000 miles started
smoking after an oil change, and has
continued. It’s only on start up, and worsens
if the car hasn’t been driven in a few days.
The smoke is bluish white and comes out in a
big puff and then it dissipates. I opened the
hood and noticed a small amount of oil
oozing around the oil filter. I’ve also noticed
black soot on the back end of the car.
Checked the oil and it’s not milky. I have had
to replace coolant more frequently than
normal I think....like twice in a year. Any
thoughts?

I had the similar black smog came from the tails of my 2017 X3 for several times and drop to a locate dealer for inspection. I heard it was a recall. You can check national recall center website with your VIN#. You never know if it is the case.
