Power drain issue CX-5
Asked by Nick Oct 31, 2015 at 02:30 PM about the 2013 Mazda CX-5 Touring
Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I have a 2013 CX-5. Replaced the battery and
took to the dealer but they diagnosed the issue as
a cable that was not tight enough.
Basically my alarm will go off randomly at night
and sometimes the engine makes a clicking noise
almost like its trying to start when it has not been
used in 2 or 3 days. Any advice would be great!

I have my car at the Mazda dealership as I am having problems with dead battery .I have had three batteries in 2 1/2 years and now RACV is getting a bit brown off to come and start. The RACV mechanic told me to get A draw test, was not really happy with me taking back to Mazda wanted me to go to a Auto Electrian that he recommended. Went to Mazda this morning but they were not happy as I did not book it in - Could not book in as did not know when I was able to start. I
My CX5 has a faulty valve in the battery. It is a 2014 Ref which I bought with 27,000 on the clock. Not happy, since I've only had it 4 months and this is the second problem!
I was just told for my 2020 Mazda CX-5 GTR that Mazda has detected a problem with the power lift gate but does not have a fix yet or recall. Great so every time it decides to power my battery down I have to call a tow truck to jump it, which is not good for the vehicle.
Battery drain caused by Power LiftGate - Same issue with 2020 Mazda CX5 GT. Mazda does not know how to fix it and is giving me the complete run around. Vehicle is 10 days old have had to boost it multiple times
Having the same issue with 2020 CX5 GT, drained battery, car is only 3 weeks old.
