2013 Honda Accord: when I try to start it, all the dash lights flash and it isn't cranking.
Asked by KirkH Jun 20, 2015 at 04:13 AM about the 2013 Honda Accord EX-L V6 with Nav
Question type: Maintenance & Repair
Drove 2013 Honda Accord home from work. Parked in drive, ran inside, and when I came
out, it wouldn't start. Foot on brake, in park, and push button and all the dash lights
flashed as long as I held the start button. Did not crank. Other electrical seems to work
fine - accessories, key fob, etc. What to do?

Have you tried putting the shift selector into neutral and then try to start it ? It sounds like an electrical/switch problem in the starting system.
Ended up being a bad battery. The system knew not to try to start the car and drain the battery any more which would require re-programming all the software.
@jp1956 I love you. Put it on neutral and it worked!!
KirkH Thanks for suggestion. How did you re-programmed all the software?
Before you spend money call this number 1 (888) 234-2138 Honda Recall line. Provide them with your VIN number to see if your car has a recall in it. I am experiencing the same thing with my 2014 Honda EXL. I will be calling the dealership for them to schedule my appointment to have this problem fixed. Please know the first time will be a temporary fix by replacing your battery sensor. Once the factory figures out how to permanently fix it you will be notified again to bring your car back in for them to put permanent battery sensor on. Free both times. I hope this helps some one out. Vee, Raeford NC.
Veronica- Thank you for this valuable information! My husband and I stopped locally to fuel up. Afterward, we experienced this same issue with out 2013 Accord EX-L. We reviewed the manual but could find no reference to all the lights flashing simultaneously. My husband felt sure the problem was related to the battery, so he walked home to get our 2006 Civic (312,000 miles, LOL) and jumper cables. While I waited for his return, I discovered this forum and your post. I called the Honda Recall line, gave them my VIN, and indeed there is a new recall on my vehicle, exactly as you stated. We were able to jump the Accord and get it home. J will contact the dealership in the a.m. to set up an appt. for diagnostic on the battery sensor. Thank you for posting!
This happen to me as well (Accord 2013 EX-L V6) For the last month every second day the car did not start. The button light is green means that the ignition identify the remote (also the door open and close perfectly using the remote means the car read the signal, the remote work and the remote battery is good) The entire cluster light on, no issues beside... the engine do not start As I'm playing with the button (sometime for more then an hour) at some point the car just start, no special reason why... then it work perfect for a day or two and then break again. In the last week it take more time then previous times to get it working. I did not did the battery recall yet (my car is eligible for it), tonight I tow the car to the dealer as I gave up... Just checking (mainly Veronica and J) can you share what was done, how did you fix it, what was the cost and such...
Update: turn out to be a starter issue, replace a new started at the dealership ($750) all back to normal Starter cost is around $150-$200, labor if you have time is one hour max (you tube got a good video explaining how to) you can save $500
Just called Honda and as Veronica stated it was the battery sensor. well bring it to dealership tomorrow. Thanks Veronica for the post

I fixed it!! No cost!! No sweat!! It was getting bad and thought to walk home. Here's the answer: I have the key type 2013 Honda Accord. Turn key one notch and count to about 3. Turn key the next notch and wait for the lights on the dash to settle down and count to about 3. Start your car. I've tried it, and every time it worked. Spread the word.
This thread is for a push to start button but I'm happy this one worked for you.
Hey everyone, my car has been having the same starter issue. I got my recall notice, my Honda dealership fixed the battery sensor, however my car is still giving me this issue with my push start 2013 Accord EXL. So it is either not the battery sensor or the battery has been drained and should work upon new replacement. I want to know if anyone else got the battery sensor recall replacement, and is now not experiencing the starter issue? I'm thinking this recall may not be our solution.
In my case it was the starter it self, take a long rod and hit the starter, see if it works. https://youtu.be/ADo0ejQqm_E
I have been having this issue also; I don't believe it is related to the battery R/C because I had begun having the intermittent no-start issue before the dealer fixed the battery problem in July. I complained about the problem then, but they could not duplicate or diagnose it then. I have continued to have the problem and have now scheduled an appointment for this week as the problem occurred 2x this week. I have also noticed that when this happens, the light on the push button begins flashing. I wonder if there is a code associated with the number of times flashed -- I think it was '24'. I bought my 2013 as a Certified Pre-Owned only one year ago, but I'm loosing confidence in it now which I never did with my old '98 Camry which I replaced with this car.
My 2014 Accord Ex-L V6 auto is just recently having the push button start issues! It sounds like static. Then it doesn't start. After a few tries it starts! It does this intermittently. I hope Honda fixes this issue or I will switch to another AutoMaker. Im on my 9th Honda. No issues with any I've preowned with exception of my '03 Accord V6 Auto in which the transmission went out but covered under warranty.

The dealer says it's the starter, but it's not. It's a cheap ignition switch and I can prove it. If the plastic cover on the steering shaft is removed, it reveals the ignition switch. If you turn the key and tap the ignition switch with a wrench, it will start every time. Replacing the ignition switch won't help. It's just not beefy enough. They need to recall the switch with a beefier one.
My 2013 Honda Accord EX-L V4 was having the push button issue in July 2017. The Honda dealer I purchased it from new was unable to duplicate the issue. I took it to another Honda dealer who was also not able to duplicate the issue, although the lot porter who went to move it into the back for diagnostic experienced the very same issue......and then it started in a couple of minutes. I called American Honda Corporation and opened up a case. I was told to return to the last Honda dealer and have them diagnose the problem. I did that and they diagnosed the problem as the starter. With 62,000 miles on the odometer, the dealer wanted $853.00 parts and labor. American Honda Motor offered to handle it as a in-warranty claim and pay 90% of the what it would cost if under warranty. It cost me $70.00.
Damn, i'm having same issue, opened case and talked to Honda customer service out in California, the guy said there's nothing he could do cause i'm out of warranty. It expired in jun/july sometime. I have to set up an appt with Honda Locally to get diagnosed and fixed. I'm not happy. He told me to ask the dealership if they can offer some type of assistance. We will see if they do, I hate that this happened with my honda accord. Congrats on getting them to pay . How did you get them to pay for it out of warranty?
Can the battery sensor be responsible for the car not starting?
I’m having the same problems with my 2013 Honda Accord EXL. I took it to the Honda dealer and they were unable to duplicate the problem. They did address the recall issue. But now it is taking me up to ten attempts to get the car started. It is not the battery as I have replaced it recently. Plus all the dash lights come on.

Thank you ALL for this thread. I to have a 2013 Honda push start that intermittently won't start. I buy my parts from the dealership but my own mechanic installs them. I'm buying a battery sensor and starter TODAY. I am out of warrantee and I simply will NOT give the dealership $500+ of my money. Thanks for the "800" #, calling them today.
I have tried to do all of the above and still it will not start. My car is at Honda right now having the permanent item fixed regards to the recall, but as Honda claim, it is not the recall that is making my car not start. I feel like they’re just trying to get money out of me. Honda should really look into this because as I can see, there are a lot of us having this issue with our car. It’s ridiculous! I’ve only had this car for a year and it’s already giving me problems.
my car would not start all lights and radio worked. the dash area that displays the gear which i am in was displaying all gears at the same time. so it looked as if DRP and S were all displayed on top of each other. The modular that communicates with their computers was just loading for ever so that had to manually search for the problem. After 5 hours of multiple technicians trying to diagnosis the car the found out that the car had a bad ground wire. graciously they charged me $100 for finding this easy fix.
Shawn Monik answered 6 years ago
Are your cars starting properly in the cold? New alternator, good battery, car WON'T start.
Might be the started, for my car, they said my starter died. That's just ridiculous because it's still a pretty new car. I mean 2013? Come on? But it might be that. My car doesn't have an issue starting my car after I changed out the starter. Thank god for my free power training warranty with walser and my roadside assistance with Geico.
My 2013 Accord is having the same problem. It's not the battery recall, I've had that done. It's not the battery, I put in a new one. A mechanic told me it is not the starter, that it's the "throat" whatever that means. I'm having Honda take a look at it today.
Just picked my 2013 Honda Crosstour from the dealership after suffering from the same issue. When I pushed the start button, all electrical came on but the engine didn't turn over. The brake lights did not come on when the pedal was pushed. They found a loose connection between 2 wires in the brake circuit. The connection is under the kickplate in the drivers side floorboard. The technician unplugged it, plugged in back in and it has started every time. The loose connection was causing the fuse to blow which prevented the brake switch from operating and the car from starting. Hope this helps!

Went to start my 2013 4cyl Honda’s Accord today and all I got was a ticking noise. All the lights and radio were still working, which didn’t happen when I drained the battery before. Jumpstarted it and it seems to be working now. It hesitated to start a few weeks back and with the second try it started. Still need to take it in for the battery recap that is out. But from the sounds of it that isn’t going to fix it. Just replaced the batter just over a year ago. I had the battery tested tonight and it was just fine. Could this be a starter issue?
Extremezzc answered 6 years ago
Quick question for the people that changed the battery did you replace it with the same battery ? Ive heard that the 410 cca is not sufficient power for the car of this size. I checked and my 2012 civic has 475 cca and considering this is an accord it should have more power. I just had the same problem waiting to hear back from the dealer. 2013 v4 honda accord
My 2013 Accord will start (spin) but won’t crank. One mechanic said it’s my fuel pump & in the same breath he said it was my crankshaft sensor. Help me understand
This is not an answer but heres my problem '13 Honda Accord EXL 4 Cyl.. 1st episode , No start, clicking noise. inspect battery and + terminal all green.Clean, check battery voltage, it was 11.5V. After jump start check alt now 14.4 V ! ! Good. 2nd episode, No start, clicking, battery terminal green, again low battery Volts, charge battery clean terminal (month later). Tell Honda dealer, they replace entire + battery cable (we're under warranty but cost 83$ for part, no labor. 3rd episode again no start green + terminal, Honda installs battery sensor on - terminal. 4 th episode this AM , no start clicking, terminals clean!!! ?? check battery volt, 12.1 volts? Damn, use jump box ,in my exasperation, connect box wrong!!!! Did get car running and charged battery, tightened both battery cables maybe half turn. Alt putting out 14.5 volts Now have NO RADIO BACKUP CAMERA ETC!!!!
I have a 2014 Accord with the no crank just click issue immediatly after The battery sensor recall. The Honda Stealer (service writer) guessed It is my starter going out. I showed him how great my starter works each Time using my remote start feature. That shut him up with the starter. I think the manufacturer knows about this telling them to stall everyone With bullshit lies......until it hits da fan!! Time to say Goodbye Honda!!
Same issue with 47000 miles... New battery, clean connections... Click nothing, click nothing, click nothing, click nothing, click nothing, click nothing, click nothing, click nothing, click nothing, click nothing, click nothing, CLICK START!!! Click start, click start, click start, click start, click start, lick nothing, click nothing, click nothing, click nothing, click nothing, click nothing, click nothing, click nothing, click nothing, click nothing, CLICK START!!! etc... Alt tested good, battery tested good, connections good, Told by parts store "must be the starter.... 47000 miles! 2013 accord 4 cyl... I'm a DIY guy but I'm Calling Honda Tomorrow to see what they will do..... If I'm not satisfied I'll DIY and say goodbye to Honda...
My Honda 2013 eco starts but when I turn it off the radio stays on!! I have to turn it on and move it, if not my battery dies
Have same starting issue with 2013 accord lx, 4cyl , new battery 55k miles - anyone tried putting the little bigger battery (from v6 model or so. .) and did it help? - did replace starter help? - is it electric switch? not sure whats wrong, Honda dealer said, keep driving until it fails and tow us back to use them. please suggest what worked for you in this situation? very frustrating honda :(
I have a 2013 Honda Accord EXL that won't start almost every time I try. Warranty is up , and I did not buy another because I only have 15,000 miles. I am told I need a starter- about $599. Very disappointed in Honda!!!!!!!
I am having the same problem with my honda accord exl 2013. I have about 78,000 miles on it. Bought new november 2012. About 2 -3 months ago my car would not start. Thought i didnt press on the break..tried again..started. a week later same problem. This went on for several weeks, then it was more frequent. Brought in to hnoda, they were unable to diagnose. 2 weeks layer was unable to get it started ..aaa came and jumped me. Made an appointment with dealer for saturday. Next day wouldnt start. Had aaa tow to dealer. AGAIN unable to diagnose. Took car home..shocking , didnt start again! Sonehow aaa got it started, drove straight to dealer. They changed the alternator while i had a loaner. Called me to pick up my car..when i arrive Honda is trying to jump my car because they cant get it started. So they put in a new battery. Now new battery and alternator..guess what? Doesnt start. Same old clicking sound when i ptess on break and hit ignition. They have my car now and had the nerve to call me on saturday and say nothing is wrong with my car! Today i get in the loaner crv to go to work and it wont start! I do not even know how to begin to handle this. At my wits end. I have loved honda since my 1990 prelude. I then had a 2007 civic which i was very happy with until STUPID STORM SANDY drown it which brought me to my 2013 accord nightmare!
Chucke Have same starting issue with my 2013 accord exl, 4 cyl. Replaced battery last August with a better Walmart everstart and worked fine until early this month it started taking several tries with pust button starter to get it started. Walmart checked their batt and said it was good and had a good charge which indicated that alternator was doing its job. My honda now has 41000 miles on it now and my Honda of San Angelo dealer said I could pay them a $99 diagnosses fee to see if my starter was bad which would be another $950 replacement fee. My warranty expired at 36000 miles. I am seriously thinking about trading this lemon in for a new Toyota Camry as I cant trust my Honda to get me home.
I have a 2014 Honda Accord Ex-L coupe V6, same starting issues, it happened after my warranty went. I called honda head quarters and they said there is nothing they could do. This is unacceptable. I've owned nothing but honda's since I was in highschool. This will be my last Honda! I'm switching to Toyota and giving them a try! Everyone who has this starter issues ...PLEASE call Honda Customer service and let them know about it. If they don't know about all these failures, it won't exist to them. I believe they know but everyone should go to all the honda forums and share this experience with the starter problem. Call Honda Customer service at 1 (800) 999-1009. Let them know about it!
I had the same intermittent starting issues now with 2 different 2013 Accords, my wife's V4 EX-L (which was terrible, no sound from starter when hitting the push button) and my V6 Touring (solenoid click then spinning sound only about 1 out of 25 times you try to start the car). With my wife's we changed batteries, etc and the issue came back eventually. With my car, we learned our lesson. Change the starter motor as the OEM part is faulty - 100% fixed the issue in both cases. I bought refurbished starters on eBay for <$100.
I have a 2013 w 24K miles and it recently started giving me issues with starting. The dashlights flashing and eventually after a few tries it starts. Also had issues w unlocking w hand behind handle. Ive had battery checked and they said it was fine but my alternator failed. The car sits a lot but still 24K miles and all this!! I did have the battery recall replaced in Nov. but have had no issues til this point. What gives!! 24K miles!!
I have a 2013 4cyl Accord. I ha e had the same problem. First my factory starter died, that was around 80,000 miles. I got a new one and was having the same problem. No start, a clicking sound, and a few other sounds. Took it back, another bad starter. Went through two more starters in two days, still the same thing. I took the car in for the recall on the sensor about four months ago, but still the same thing. My mechanic went through all the electrical and says it's all good. I don't know wtf is going on, but I'm stuck with this! It just sucks! I can't afford another car right now. My mechanic says he'll change my starter for free since he's already done it twice. So I guess I'm stuck trying to see if I can get it going in less than 4 turns.
44000 miles having same starter issues. Out of warranty. Battery sensor recall fixed. Very disappointing Honda shoul recall
I'm having issues starting my Accord 2014 4 cylinder and have 80k miles on it. Almost every single time get to start it it won't, just makes clicking sound and all light are up.Sometimes it takes me 7-8 times trying until it eventually starts. Interestingly, when the car is outside on the heat it actually starts fine seems like. I don't think it could be battery because I replaced it 18 month ago. Have been having this issue for about 2 month or more now. Seems like a started issue, seems like HOnda has put defective starter based on other complains.
https://www.carcomplaints.com/Honda/Accord/2013/electrical/starter_failure.shtml
See Service Bulletin 16-002 dated 2/5/2016 Starter Grinds or Spins at Startup. So far, there is no warranty extension or recall. My Accord is 5 1/2 yrs old and has 65K miles. I'm fighting with Honda to cover it under an extended warranty. Also, shop for repair prices. One dealer wanted $575 for the starter. Another quoted $399. BIG difference! Also, Service Bulletin says .9 hrs. for repair. Dealer quoted 3 hours. SNAKES!!
Update: I replaced started based on my own research on the NET. Did not even took it dealer since this was such a common issue among 2013-2015 Accord model. It's been 2 weeks since I replaced my starter and I haven't had any issues with starting my Accord 2014. Bought the new OEM Started online (31200-5A2-A52 Starter Motor Assembly (Sm-74009)(Mitsuba)) for $360. Replaced by my self in garage. It was a pain replacing it, tool me 4 hours. Saved $300-400 by not taking to dealer for replacement. Now starting like new! Good luck to every one.
Spoke to someone who said it could be the neutral safety switch.
Same issue with our "new to us" 2013 Accord ex with push button start. Push the button....all lights come on but just a click. We let the car sit for a few minutes and it starts right up. Called our local dealership and was told they never heard of this issue before LOL yeah right. Its now 2018 and there is still no official fix for this?
could not start all light on with flash when pushing start button... jump start was ok got battery check was 5 years old battery replace everything back to normal

I just bought a 2013 Honda Accord EXL last week. It was a trade at my husbands dealership with 76,000 miles. It has not wanted to start on the first try almost every 5th time I have went to start it. I was convinced Honda was one of the best car companies. I believe I just bought my first real headache & I am now terrified for winter to come.
Welcome to your new Lemon! My 2013 accord has 41K miles and I installed a new Battery and a new starter and it still has starting issues. Evidently my old starter wasn,t the problem even though O'Reillly's told me it was bad. I had to call a wrecker to tow me home but now car has started perfectly for two days since without doing anything to it. Weird Lemon!
I already contacted few lawyers, also checked lemon law and existing recalls. Only recall I found for similar starting issue which is only for V6 accord. Hope honda comes back with a recall on 4cyl soon, there are thousands of owners in same situation.
I also have this problem. 2014 Accord EX. Key-turn starter. Happened May 2018, after a few times jumping off with my 2006 Odyssey, it was fine and the issue stopped occurring. It just started back 9/20/2018 and left my wife stranded. I haven't had the recall work done, but i'm set for Friday 9/28 to get it worked on. Jump starting the car works everytime, but it needs a jump every time at this point, it will no longer start on its own. Its having the same symptoms that the other folks in this thread have acknowledged. Lights, radio, everything works, but it clicks and wont crank. 51k miles.
I bought the 2013 Honda Accord EXL June with 122K , started having this same all lights on, would not start" problem 2 weeks ago. After jump start, sent the car to outside repair shop and changed a new alternator, now the car has "Check charge system" lights on, went back to the repair shop, they said it is the battery sensor, went to Honda, Honda said the lights has nothing to do with the sensor, went to parts source and tested battery, the service person said battery is running okay, must be the alternator, I told him I just got it replaced, now he suggested me to replace the battery. i am very lost now as this is my new car. After reading all these posts, I just dont know when I can find out the issue and how much more money spent to find it out...
Honda 13. You should check for Engine Starter Motor. This is very common from you have 60k plus miles on a car for accords. I have replaced my start after reading all the forums . Did not even bother taking it the shop, because it was so obvious with symptoms.
I am having same issue with 2014 Honda Accord LX with key ignition. Replaced battery, and still clicks first or second time to start. Help.
I found the problem, my newly replaced alternator (reconditioned) does not work. That day , all lights on, steering wheel locked and car seemed out of control, quite scary, thought I was going to crash to to other cars, fortunately was in a parking lot outside the mall so not a lot of cars there in the morning, I tried all efforts to turn the steering wheel and finally turned away from those cars and parked ( i was told by mechanic that due to loss of electricity the steering wheel seemed not functioning but actually with force can still turn ) . Called my brother, he had the auto shop towed the car, found out the replaced alternator was bad , functioning at 30% capacity, the auto shop agreed to replace the alternator and waive the tow fee which they should ( I think or at least they felt sorry and admitted the mistake). Now the car seemed okay but will be alert for coming week or so.
I have a 2013 Honda Accord EX with 55,000 miles. The car just stopped running on the road and when I push the start button nothing happens. I had it towed to the Honda Dealer and they first told me I needed a new under the hood wire harness and a computer and it would cost $5,000.00. I said OK then they called and said under the hood is good and I need a under the dashboard wire harness and computers and that will cost $5,000.00. Now they say they really don't know why the car won't start. I have called Honda America for help and so far nobody knows why the car won't start. Every other electric thing works. The OBC will not see the computer on the car. Honda has no idea what is wrong with my car. I am pissed
GuruXZF18 : does your car make click sound when you push start button ? if you try multiple times does it starts eventually?
not sure what we as owners can do? honda should have a recall soon. i think they only have for v6 models so far. more complaints here : https://www.carcomplaints.com/Honda/Accord/2013/electrical/engine_wont_turn_over_wo nt_start.shtml

I’ve had the same exact problem for MONTHS now!! All lights come on but the car will not start. Now happening more frequently. As many times and 4 times a week. There have been days where I will just have to leave it at work and find a way home. I’d come back the very next day and it starts up again like nothing happened. I’ve had my starter and battery replaced multiple times and yet the problem still exists. I’ve has the car towed multiple times and every time as soon as it is taken off the tow truck it starts right up! Honda will not diagnose the problem because every time I get it to the dealership the car starts up again. They refuse to do any tests. I am running out of options here. To have a 2014 car that is so unreliable is EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING. I’m tired of being stranded places or being afraid to turn the car off if I do go anywhere. I literally just purchased this car in March 2017 and the issues immediately began in June 2017, but I thought everything was settled after replacing the battery that month. I was wrong. Here it is now, October 2018 and it’s worse than ever. Battery sensor recall, I’ve gotten that replaced. New battery, check! New starter, check! Test alternator, check!! I’ve done everything. Someone please help me. Honda has basically told me that there’s nothing they can do, both the company and the dealership! If anyone could figure out the issue you would think it would be Honda, right! Wrong. This is easily the WORSE purchase I’ve ever made and I hate to say that because I used to love my car. But after you’ve been stranded over 50 times, you’d understand!
RonS_; The car does not make a clicking sound, When I push the start button the dashboard goes through it's sequence like it is starting but the starter does not turn-on. It's been at the Honda dealer for 2 weeks now and they still have no idea why it will not start. When the hand held OBC is plugged in it does not communicate with the car. It just shut down while driving as if it lost ignition and now the start circuit also is not working. Load testing the battery tests good, it will hold 13.6 volts under a load. The neutral switch is working. The brake switch sensor is working. All other electrical systems function normal.
Geez, my 2014 hasn't been sent to honda dealership yet. They want $50 for a diagnoses! Guys if you are having this issue with the push button starter, you have to call Honda Hq customer service and let them know about it and open up a case! If you don't call Honda HQ customer service they won't know there are mass issues! I'm hoping it's just the starter. From what I've read it's a faulty starter with a service bulletin number of : 16-002. Call Honda and let them have an ear full! Here's the number! Post any solutions or if you replaced starter and things are good now! HONDA CUSTOMER SERVICE #: 1 (800) 999-1009
My 2013 Honda Accord touring model with push button start has presented the static like noise off and on for the last 2+years. Started just after the 36K mike warranty expired. With the brake pedal depressed, pushing the start button will often result only in a static like noise; engine does not even attempt to turnover. Pushing the start button to turn off all accessories, then depressing the brake pedal followed by the start button will often result in the same noise. Sometimes I have to repeat this cycle up to 5 or 6 times before the stater is engaged and the engine starts (no static noise during the successful start). I experience the same static noise at times when using the remote starter. The challenge there is that if the car fails to start using the remote starter, I am locked out from using it again for 10 minutes. Battery has been replaced, battery sensor recall completed and new starter installed in accordance with the TSB. None of these actions, as prescribed by Honda, has resolved the issue. They (Honda) designed, built, and installed a faulty ignition system in the 2013 Accord (and seemingly the 2014 as well) and fail to take responsibility. I’ve complained directly to Honda, but got the you are out of warranty, so we won’t help you response. Trust factor in Honda is very low at this point and Honda’s image is tarnished. I will likely never buy one again unless Honda makes this right by issuing a recall and fixing the issue. Until then, Honda will not get a recommendation from me, only a beware and buy a different brand.
That is terrifying that the new starter didn't fix the problem? So if Honda diagnosed it as the starter and it wasn't the starter, did they reimburse you for the incorrect diagnoses? Was it a Honda OEM starter or aftermarket? How much did they charge you for the new starter? I am lost on what to do at this point with mine. I have the 2014 Exl Coupe V6. I called Honda Customer Service and they coudln't do anything, also out of warranty. More than likely, I will have to trade the car in for a loss and switch to Toyota or Lexus! I have been loyal to honda since I was 16, i'm now 45 and on my 9th Honda! This is the last of any Honda cars I will buy! I hope everyone is complaining to Honda directly! Lets hope for some kind of fix but I won't hold my breathe!
At the Honda dealership right now with the same issue ... took me 10 minutes to start the car today! Can't wait to see what they tell me!
Heard back from the service advisor and they say it's the starter. Luckily we have an extended warranty ...
Hopefully a new starter will truly fix your issue. A new starter did not fix my issue. The dealership I went to here couldn’t reproduce the problem; however they only started it 4 times. The static noise and failure to start does not happen every time. I asked about the TSB and they quoted me $875 to replace the starter, So I went to a reputable auto care facility and had them follow the TSB and replace the starter for only only $575 plus received 2 year warranty and nation wide road side assistance. However, problem still exists...
Ack .. well, hopefully my problem will be resolved, otherwise, I'm heading back to the dealer. Like you, my problem didn't occur all the time, but the frequency increased recently. The good thing is the car started on the first try after they returned it to me. Let's hook it stays that way!
2013 Honda Accord 70,000- same issue as above with push button start that has intermittent starting problems about every 2-3 days. I had an extended warranty, so the dealership replaced the electrical harness and starter after the car totally would not start. Went fine for about 4 weeks after the harness & starter replacement, and the problem came back. The car doesn't start with the clicking sound, wait a few minutes, and then try again. Most of the time it starts after 2-3 times. Dealership can't do anything until car won't start at all. This has been going on for 5 months and it is extremely frustrating.
It took the Honda dealer 3 weeks to diagnose and repair my no start problem. According to the Honda dealer it was a bad computer and the computer is warranted for 8 years.
My 2013 Accord Touring is doing the same thing. Static noise, not starting, not every time but every third time. Guess I will call Honda Recall #, see what they say?
SAME PROBLEM ON MY 2014 ACCORD 4. CYL. IT WILL CRANK OVER 1 OR 2 TIMES BUT NOT ENOUGH TO START. 1. REPLACED BATTERY - NO HELP. I HAD AN OPEN RECALL ON THE " BATTERY MANAGEMENT SENSOR" MY HONDA DEALER REPLACED THAT AND IT GOT WORSE. WON'T START MORE OFTEN. ABOUT 2 TIMES PER WEEK. HONDA DEALER REPLACED THE ALTERNATOR AND FIXED A SHORT IN THE WIRING HARNESS FOR $800.00. MADE NO DIFFERENCE. IT STARTED EVERY DAY FOR 3 WEEKS AND NOW TODAY IT FAILED TO START 5 TIMES. IDLING BAT. VOLTS IS 12.5. V. TOO LOW. WHOULD BE 13.5. IDLING WITH THE LIGHTS THE BAT. VOLTS IS 14.5. THAT'S GOOD BUT HIGHLY IRREGULAR. MY TEMPORARY SOLUTION IS TO DRIVE WITH THE LIGHTS ON. SO FAR IF I DO THAT THE NEXT TIME I START THE CAR IT STARTS. I ALSO BOUGHT ONE OF THOSE JUMP STARTERS WITH 18" CABLES AND A LITTLE 1 POUND BATTERY SO I CAN JUMP START MY SELF. i USE IT A LOT. COSTCO OR AMAZON FOR ABOUT $60.00
My 2013 Honda Accord with the random start which was having the issue every day was recently diagnosed by the Honda dealership as needing a Throttle Body Assembly. It was replaced, luckily under my extended warranty. It has been great for 4 days. We'll see how it goes.

MY ISSUE GOT RESOLVED. I have 2013 Honda Accord Ex-L. Since last 2-3 days, dramatically it was not getting started. I changed my battery 3 months back so I was pretty sure that its not a problem with battery. There was one thought in my mind that there is a recall (replace battery sensor) due for my car so might be that is culprit behind this issue. But, before taking an appointment at Honda Dealership to get the battery sensor replaced; I wanted to give a try for diagnosis at my end. The very first I checked for any loose wiring at battery terminal; and thats it. It was the last diagnosis step for me. In my case, positive battery terminal was little bit loose and getting corroded. I just bought a copper wire brush in $1 from market and cleaned the terminal. Now my car is cranking properly every time.
Please get a ground negative wire and connecte it from the negative black point of the battery to the body of the engine that will give a better ground to the starter and other components of the car , the one from factory is to thin and does not Carrie enough negative charge. Please try this before buy any more parts or taking the car to the dealer that will save you a lot of money
There is an inherent defective ignition system in the 2013 Honda Accord with push button start that manifests itself indifferent ways. Some produce the flashing dash lights and followed by nothing when pushing the start button, and others get simply a grinding noise when pushing the start button. In both cases, then engine does not even attempt to turn over and start. In my case, I get the grinding noise, and sometimes I have to push the start button 5 or 6 times to get the car to start. I've contacted Honda corporation about this twice. The first time I got the standard too bad so sad you are out of warranty response, The second time I complained to Honda, after finding this website which documents many similar complaints, and the NHTSA website that listed over 43 pages of complaints about the starter issue, and including comments about the numerous complaints, they actually instructed me to get a diagnostics done and provide that feedback. Dealer diagnostics came back with a recommendation to replace the torque converter (since I had already replaced the starter and rotated the torque converter in accordance withe Honda's TSB). The cost for that -was ~$3200 of which I paid $1,680 and Honda corp paid the balance. It was a very nice gesture from Honda, but it did not fix the grinding noise. However, I followed their TSB and follow on recommendation for a new torque converter, and since neither of those fixed the issue, they now recommend replacing the starter again because 1. they installed a new torque converter and since that didn't fix it, they think redoing the TSB work will fix it, and 2. The starter installed by a third party may not meet the specs of a Honda OEM starter. Not that the starter is bad, but just "may not" meet OEM specs; I call BS on that. During one of my conversations with Honda Corp case manager, she told me that while this website (and other's like it) are great, Honda does not monitor them for any recall or safety concerns. We have to file a complaint directly with Honda Corp. I encourage everyone on this thread to file/open a complaint with Honda. It is rather easy to do; the link below will open a page from which you can file your complaint. https://crrs.secure.force.com/service/hondaw2c Simply enter your information and details. You can also call 800-999-1009. I dealt with Darlene ext 87143. I also learned another valuable lesson, complain about any and all issues every time; regardless of how minor it may seem to both honda corp and your service department. It's fine to complain on these websites, but this is not considered "documentation" by Honda Corp. The service department I've been using has been great to work with, they gave me a loaner car because after $3200 of work, it was still not fixed. I won't be putting any more money into this car, it is time to dump it. SO sad that a Honda with 72K miles is so unreliable. #NEVERHONDA again.
In my case the computer failed. It took the Honda dealer 18 days to diagnose and repair. The repair was covered under the warranty. It seems the computer is warranted for 8 years
My 2014 Accord Touring often chokes as I push the brake and start button. It will not start followed by continual choking and a stiff break that's hard to compress. It happens at least once a week and usually starts after 2 or 3 attempts. Anybody have same Honda "symptoms"?
I had the same problem with my 2014 EX-L ... to a point where the car wouldn't start all together. Took it in to the dealer, and they changed my starter. It's been about 6 months, and I haven't had an issue yet ... fingers crossed!
Same issue on my 2013 Accord EX-L with 88k. Car would fail to start although all lights would come on. Had starter replaced today and as of right now has resolved the problem.
I have honda accord 2013 EX-L. This piece of trash car stops anywhere it wants.. They can not verify in honda dealership because it doesnt detect when they give it a start. $600 to fix the problem.. unbelievable know issue from Honda. #NeverHonda
My dealer, Jack Matia in Elyria Ohio acts like they've never heard of this problem. Has had my car for 5 days, telling me checking drain on battery, that something is staying on. that's bullshit, because the car will start, go 4 miles to get gas, then won't start, just getting clicking series and lights flashing, then i have to use my portable jump starter. How do you sell a car with a problem like that?
I HAVE HAD THE RECALL FIXED ON THE BATTERY SENSOR, CHANGED THE STARTER, NEW BATTERY, ALL HAVE BEEN A TEMPORARY FIX STILL HAVING THE SAME CLICK NO START WHEN YOU PUSH THE STARTER BUTTON. I HAVE ALSO FIGURED OUT THAT IF YOU HOLD YOUR FOOT ON THE BRAKE AND PUSH THE BUTTON AND HOLD IT, IF IT DON'T START CONTINUE HOLDING THE STARTER BUTTON AND PUMP THE BRAKE AS YOU LISTEN TO THE CLICK EACH TIME I HAVE HAD BETTER TIME STARTING THAT WAY WHEN IT DOESN'T START CORRECTLY. 2013 ACCORD V6
I own a 2013 4cyl accord 65K miles I'm on my second replacement starter both not covered under warranty because the problems started occurring after 50K miles. The second starter only lasted 18 months!!! I am now on my third starter. I read everyones comments above and they all have similar problems to my own, if your car makes a clicking sound when you try to start it but it won't start until the second, third or even tenth try....its a sign your starter is defective and will fail on you really soon!!!! Don't wait for this to happen, have the starter replaced immediately after discovering this problem or else you will be stranded somewhere like I have and will have to pay for a tow. When you do experience this problem and YOU WILL, replace the starter or trade the car in. This has nothing to do with the battery sensor recall, WAKE UP PEOPLE! Its a poorly designed starter motor Make a complaint directly to Honda like I did at https://crrs.secure.force.com/service/hondaw2c. Unfortunately I don't know what else I can do :(
Mine is a 2014 ex, what should I do, it wont start.
Like many others have mentioned, I took mine to the dealer and they replaced the starter. Fortunately for me, I had an extended warranty, which covered the cost.

FIXED! My 2013 Accord EX 2.4 with 54,000 miles was having the same problem about 5 months ago. I would push the start button and nothing would happen. At first it would happen every few weeks but got progressively worse. I had read on another thread where one owner replaced the brush holder set in the starter (Honda OEM part number 31210-5A2-A01) and fixed his problem. So I purchased the brush holder online for about $40. After installing the new parts my Accord has started perfectly ever since! I will say if you are not mechanically inclined you may want to have a shop/dealer install it. Rebuilding the starter itself is rather easy. Getting it off the car is a bit of a challenge. Good luck.
I have 2013 Honda Accord Coupe EX-L (4 cylinder) and am experiencing a combination of these issues. Every time I attempt to start the car after it sits overnight it WILL NOT start. It requires a jump daily. The lights that came on, on the dash are: Starter System, Charging System Indicator, Low Oil Pressure Indicator and Electric Power Steering System Indicator. The Check Engine light comes on periodically and flashes. I’m not sure what all of this means in terms of finding a safe space to start exploring ideas in terms of repair, but it is more than overwhelming. The battery and alternator have been checked multiple times and everything checks out fine. There have been two recalls on the vehicle since purchase in August of 2014 and for a brief moment it appeared that the fix was the answer to my weak cranking issues, but now I am sadly mistaken. I have replaced the battery about 4-5 times since purchase and everything seems great, but then eventually, I’m back to the car not starting. I will detail more specifics on tomorrow, but here recently after dealing with the car not starting for several days in a row and having to receive a jump, I discovered that for a temporary fix in my case, until I can explore other options without blindly trying to solve the problem and wasting hundreds of dollars, that if you turn off everything in the car, (ie: dome lights in off position, headlights in off position, radio off) the car crank is strong as if nothing ever happened. I have yet to run into an issue with the car not starting since doing this. I attempted this on Friday, June 28, 2019 and today is July 2, 2019 and the car has not required a jump. I’m not sure how long this will last, but I will definitely be back to give updates. Honda should be ashamed of themselves as this seems to be an ongoing issue for many. I think this is understood based on what I’ve written, but I have been dealing with many variations of several things posted on this feed since I purchased the vehicle which makes me question the previous owners reason for getting rid of the vehicle so soon. I currently have a little over 106,000 on the vehicle and at purchase it had about 30,000. Hope this helps someone and please comment if any of this aligns with your experience and detail possible solutions to the problem. (side note: I’m considering changing the Keyless Entry, but I’m not even sure if that is a good place to start. With parts and labor outside of the dealership, I’m estimating approximately $450-$500, but still significantly cheaper than the dealer repair. I will link a YouTube video as well. Anything to help. https://youtu.be/A4DUmAim8Fw

Im having start issue problem. When i saw all lights that display on the dash panel, i decided to diagnose it from Autozone. The result was too rich fuel system. I bought fuel injector. I drove the vehicle for few miles, all lights were cleared. Currently the car will not start , i had to press the push button without break, off , ON , then it will start. I just bought mitsuba starter. I will update you all after the replacement later today. Before i forget, i did all recall from honda, i bought OEM battery from honda. I do get stall jerk when i accelerate . I have to figure whats up with it. Hob

I just replaced the starter and this the original starter found in honda 2013 exl-l (4cyl) i was fortunate to found exact part new for $61 bucks. Its almost done and i will update with the result.
When your Honda 2014 Accord EX won’t start in 93 degree heat and you’re a 79 year old woman ... that’s a problem! Sometimes it starts, but more frequently I just hear a click. Dashboard message ‘KEY BATT’ flashes sometimes, but changing battery in key fob does not resolve the problem. I have been living with this intermittent starter problem for about a month. We bought the car new in summer 2014; it has just over 42,000 miles and the warranty has expired. I will register my complaint with Honda, but a $900 repair for a starter that is obviously defective surely should be covered by Honda. If Honda refuses to issue a recall or adjust the cost of replacement, they can expect the thousands of unhappy customers to ‘spread the word’! Not smart!
Same issue. 2013 EXL. Starter issue. 530.00 fix. thank you Honda for nothing. Recall this piece of S. Rise up people. Let's get reimbursed.
Hondalover212 answered 5 years ago
Its the starter. I replaced mine and its fine. Works good.
Don't count your chickens before they hatch, I also replaced the starter on my 2013 Honda accord and it started fine for about a week, then it started doing the same ole thing again. I believe the problem is within the computer system and Honda Corporation knows it, but they don't want to admit it, so they wont have to spend millions of dollars correcting it!
I completely agree / they know it is a problem; but until they are FORCED to do something about it, they won’t. Everyone who is experiencing a starter problem on their 2013-2015 honda Accord needs to call Honda corporation and open/file a complaint and reference ALL the complaints on the numerous websites to include NHTSA. #NeverHonda.
2013 Honda Accord push to start. I am experiencing the same problem with intermittent push to start issues. I removed the starter and had it tested which passed each try. There seems to be something electrical causing the started not to engage. The dash lights come on and there is a clicking sound from the engine bay each try. The problem is getting worse occurring every 5-8 tries before reoccurring.
Same problem tonight (9/16/19). Checked the battery terminals which were very corroded. Cleaned them, still clicking with all the dash lights flashing. Checked the battery voltage, 10.3 volts, not enough to turn the car over and I think the car knew this and that little light show is how the car is letting me know. Replaced the battery, which was 54 months into a 100-month limited warranty from local Honda dealer which ran me $84.00. Car starts fine. Another quick tip, since the battery is disconnected from the car, you need the radio code OR after the car is running hold the radio power button for 3-5 seconds and it resets with all your presets. Final thing is you’ll need to let it run for 3-5 minutes to sync up with GPS again. If you replace the battery yourself, be careful not to drop the bolts that hold the battery brace down, very difficult to retrieve them if they don’t fall all the way to the ground.
This is crazy. Some are saying that it's 100% the starter, they get a new starter put in at Honda and thats the fix. Some are saying it's electrical? hmm...wtf?
I put a new starter in my 2013 Accord EXL, 4 cyl., and I thought it was fixed, but about a week later it started doing the same old thing again, (Not starting/cranking when the button is depressed. I believe the problem is in the computers, but the Honda Corp. will not fess up to it, as it would cost them millions to correct the fault! I got tired of messing around with my Honda and traded it off for a good ole 2017 Toyota RAV4 and haven,t had a lick of trouble since!!
Hi, I had the same issue described in this thread above by KirkH + a click sound every time I pushed the start button in a 2013 4cil accord. After reading this thread I figured I was dealing with a starter motor issue. After unmounting it and taking it to a repair shop the problem were worn-out carbons in the brush holder assembly. The assembly was replaced and the accord is up and running again. Around 50 USD solution (in Mexico). Greetings.
Having the same problem with my 2013 accord. There is a Service Bulletin from Honda TSB #13-038 that references the keyless entry system. Issue: keyless remote will not start vehicle. Unfortunately for me, I came across that post before this one. I had the Keyless Access Control Unit replaced as specified in TSB 13-038. That was a $350 part. That did not solve the problem. I then replaced the starter ( $275 from AutoZone) and the car works great. So for me, the starter was the problem. If you are still having issues after replacing the starter, you should review TSB 13-038.
I have the same issue with my 2013 Honda Accord EX-L. I have to push on brakes a few times before it will start. I got the starter replaced today because honda told me that is what it needs and another mechanic said the same thing. I went and got the battery checked as well and they said it is still good. I am lost at what to do next. Next on the list is the sensor that people are talking about.
Hondalover212 answered 4 years ago
@MS . Make sure you got your battery top cable. It was part of the recall which i did on mine . Visit honda.com to check the recall for your vin. All software needs to be updated by honda not road side mechanic. I replace my starter which fixed my problem
My 2013 Accord Touring has the exact same problem with the starter with most people. Tried calling the Honda Corporate, I was pretty told to go "F" myself. Ok, that's not exactly what happen, they told me to go get it diagnosed from a Honda dealership, which I did, and they said I had to change the starter. I sent the diagnostic to Honda corporate and this is where the fun began. Honda Regional Case Manager (Angie) phone number (657)400- 2482 said that my car is old and that they wouldn't do anything about it. If you get Angie, I'm sorry in advance. By the way, the cost to replace the stater for me was over $1,000. Long story short, I was denied by Angie, she raised her voice at me and said pretty much no way in hell she will do anything for me. I sent another email to her executives this time, I still got Angie back on the line, this time she spoke to me very condescendingly like I'm some idiot. She said all her Executives are on her side and no matter how many times I contact Honda, she will be the only person I will deal with, essentially trying to discourage me from re-contacting them. I'm ok with the judgement honestly, what I'm not ok with is the treatment I got from Honda's Case Regional Manager (Angie). She is clearly in the wrong field. Anyway, we have 5 Honda Accords in the family and two of those Accords are even older than my 2013 model and none of the other Accords have the starter issues. This is clearly something that will probably get a recall. I am writing this to inform of the poor treatment I received at the hands of Angie and to hopefully get Honda to consider a recall on starter. I would hate for anyone to have to deal with Angie.
I got no responses from Honda corporate- which is horrible. This is what I end up doing. I bought a Honda starter Remanufactured on eBay ( it ranges from $50-$100). I went to local mechanic who replaced it for $100. All done under $200 - It’s running perfectly from last three years now. Let me know if you guys need eBay Details too.
I fixed it! The selector has to be precisely on Park position. I pushed it on Park and my Accord 2013 starts again! Neutral switch?
Shift selector was on Park each time, but perhaps not exactly on it. Park position became loose after years? I just have to push it towards dashboard and that's it...
4) No Crank When in Park and Neutral If your neutral safety switch is having serious electrical problems, then your engine will not crank in park or neutral. The starter relay relies on the switch for receiving power. If it can’t receive this power, then the starter motor will not be able to crank the engine.

AllenWang56 answered 4 years ago
I figure it out. It is not the starter problem. It is might be the Ignition problem. First time I hit the brake and shift it to neutral. It worked then I tried it the second time, It didn't work. So at last I make sure everything is off then press the start button twice make sure you see everything on dash board. When you see that so you can hit the brake and start then it will start.
guys my car is hving someABS issue? Ive never had this problm before but now my engine wont start when turn the keys and i do hear a click. Is my car completely fucked or is ita dead battery?
AllenWang56 answered 4 years ago
Could be just when you start it your system is diagnose wrong drive for a while and see what happens.
Hondalover212 answered 4 years ago
Two things you have to check, jump start the battery.if the car wont start, check the battery for voltage and see if you can replace the battery. Also there was a recall on the cable or sensor for the battery which fixed the problem. Check with your local honda. Its done for free. I did mine, i replace my starter due to non statrt and i never had no issue. My starter was acting up same like yours at 60,000 miles. I bought it on ebay for $40 oem part. It worked. I have the car 5 yrs no issue

2013 Honda Accord LX. Same problem here. Replaced the starter per Honda dealer recommendation ($700). One week later, same problem won't start.
Hondalover212 answered 4 years ago
Check your recall, it might be the sensor on the battery, i had mine replace 5 yrs ago, and bought new battery from Honda which fixed the problem.
Mine is a 2013 Accord EX-L with push button start issues. It would intermittently just make a click sound and all accessory lights on, usually would start after couple tries. This turned into a more frequent occurrence, to sometimes taking 45 min to start and then failed to start ever. It would occasionally start to crank and just give out before the car actually started. I ended up taking of the negative terminal clamp (with the sensor off), put SuperLube dielectric grease on the battery terminal itself and inside of the clamp. I REALLY tightened it down, and retightened the grounding bolt that goes to the frame. This worked for me (I screamed with joy), hopefully this works for others!
Forgot to mention: I couldn’t pinpoint anything that could be causing it or consistently helpful to avoid the Intermittent starting. Tried starting in neutral, replacing fob batteries, rocking the car, jiggling the shifter, talking nicely to it. It did seem to never want to start if the brake pedal was firm, say if it got pumped a couple times. The brake lights came on still with a firm pedal. It Started more consistently with a soft brake pedal for whatever reason. And as I mentioned in my previous post, lubing and really tightening the connections did the trick. Hard or soft brake pedal, it starts. Could a bad ground or connections really have or be causing all this chaos?! I hope this gets figured out for everyone. :-/

I have the same problems as everyone here . you never know when its going to happen . Honda wants to avoid even telling you its a money maker for them . Getting stranded is a safety related issue as I have had this happen in some places where I've had issues working under the hood in the middle of no where. I'm filing a safety issue with the state on Honda ignoring to take issue with this problem and putting all the cost back on the owners.

HondaNotWhatItUsed2B... answered about a year ago
2013 EX, original owner. This problem started about a year ago, randomly at first and slowly progressed to an intolerable issue as many, or most here describe. We can here the starter (or relays, don't know) clicking. Brand new battery, brand new FOB batteries. When it starts, it starts like a young stud, so I really doubt a starter issue, but what do I know. The first "fix" that I saw on YouTube was that the push start switch needs to be cleaned. FML - I spent a whole weekend to get to this switch, take it apart, clean it and then re-install the dash. Sure enough, that was not the problem. Then, in addition to not starting, we experienced another symptom that is described in TSB #13-038 that @Guru6YRWK mentioned regarding the control unit. We shut the engine off, got out and tried to lock the vehicle, it started beeping like it does not recognize the key. I also saw some YouTube videos about that exact part. It was a clear indication to me that "this is the issue". Honda dealer wanted $750 to repair this: $450 for the part, $300 to re-program the FOBs. That's a pure robbery in pure daylight, to charge $300 to program two FOBs, which takes 30 minutes if the technician takes a coffee break. So I bought the part myself at $290 including shipping, replaced it myself in about half an hour, and then called a locksmith with an OBD computer who programmed the two FOBs for $150. The car started immediately....and then as soon as he left it went back to not starting and having the same issues. So I can replace the starter, but there are so many here who got their starter replaced and are STILL having the problem. Murphy is a good friend of mine and I know that if I take the car to the dealer to "diagnose" it, they will not be able to reproduce the problem. Total waste of time, as I see it. I am confident that there is a deeper problem, probably inside the main computer, but our car is way out of warranty and there is absolutely no chance in hell that I am paying Honda to put a new computer. First of, it will probably be about a quarter of the car's value. Second - I strongly believe that even if they say it's a computer, it's not the computer. Simply because they have no clue. I'll check the wiring (ground) that was mentioned, I will also try the Parking lever (make sure it activates the switch), I may very well invest a few hundreds of $$ in a new starter - not through the dealer of course, somewhere else, cheaper. But I am not going to throw additional money on this. My biggest problem is - how can I even sell this car if I decide to bite the bullet and buy something else.

hondaNotWhat ItUse2B did you figure out the problem? I am having the same problem with mine.
GuruD99M3D answered about a year ago
@GuruD99FP9 - Yes, I did. It was the starter. In my case, I believe the control module was also bad (perhaps I am trying to justify spending money on it ;-) ) because the car beeped like there was no key, but after replacing that the problem of not-starting continued, I took it to a local shop, they diagnosed the starter and replaced it.

2013 Honda Accord EX-L (2.4). Bought new in 2013. Having intermittent No Crank/No start issue in the last 6 months. Getting worse and scary when it fails after a dozen attempts. I don't think there is a click sound when it happens (perhaps it can be called a ding type sound). So I don't think it is the starter. It is not battery problem because jump start failed once, and even AAA failed to start it when it happened at another time (and they said battery is good) yet it started on the next day. Like everyone here I am amazed that Honda did not provide a working solution. I found some videos on internet suggesting that this might be a push start/stop switch (button) issue and could be solved by cleaning two contacts behind the button. I did not run into a similar posting on this board. I think that this should be really the first thing to check. I attempted to take the driver side trim off to reach the push start/stop switch but I failed being not experienced with trims. Would anyone care to comment? I will really appreciate it.
NeguD5JPVN answered 8 months ago
f yes how would one reach it. That is could someone send guidance (video etc) to show how the trim in the front of it is removed to reach it.
