Low timing when rest

Asked by Jailani Jun 27, 2018 at 09:48 PM about the 2012 Volkswagen Beetle Turbo

Question type: General

How to  prevent arollback. I sent my car to VW because of shuddering. I collected the car shuddering slightly improved but I noticed the car lacks power. Now when stopping on a slope the car would rollback about 6 in to one feet from rest position. Its quite scarry when the guy behind stopped very near to the rear bumper. How do you solve this problem.

This is not a solution but a "band-aid" to help until the problem is fixed : if your car has a hand brake you can hold it (with button depressed) to help hold the car while you release the brake and engage the clutch, it will take some practice to time it out but it works (pending your hand brake does). You should take it back because they obviously didnt fix the problem and thats exactly what you've paid them for. Im 100% against anti-roll back, blind spot sensors and vehicles with clutches that engage the clutch for you, people become dependant on these features and WHEN (not IF) they fail accidents happen.

But my beetle is auto. I use to use the handbrake with my manual gear cars. There is no clutch for my auto car.
