You will lose power and vehicle will not be able to go over 20-30 mph with gas pedal to floor and eventually vehicle will not start.

Ignoring a warning light is an idiot looking at an idiot light. Get it fixed.

Risking damage to a newer Lincoln due to ignoring the warning light is not my idea of being smart. It is likely that if miles are low enough it would be covered under warranty. I wonder how the original poster knows the catalyst needs to be replaced. Maybe ignoring a flashing check engine light caused that and it was ignored. Wow, stuff like this just makes my blood boil!
