45,000 miles and a dead battery?

Asked by Jane Sep 18, 2017 at 07:53 AM about the 2013 Mazda MAZDA6 i Touring

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Went to start my car recently and nothing.
No lights were left on etc.  Is that normal
for a car, with its original battery, to only
last for 45,000 miles?  (The battery has
since been replaced and is fine.)

Batteries generally last 4 to 5 years, some longer. It is not unreasonable that your battery has failed in the 4 year 45,000 mile time frame.

Mine died after 2500 miles and again after 25’000 miles. Totally disgusted.
