2013 Subaru Outback Won’t Start

My outback won’t start. The battery seems fine but
it just won’t turn over. It has sounded a little
hesitant to start in the past. No dashboard lights
came on. I am going to try to jump it and see what
happens. Any suggestions?

Obviously the battery is NOT fine, as it won't power the starter to crank the motor. Clean the contacts thoroughly, jump-start, drive a lot, and see if it holds the charge. If not, replace with a NON-Subaru battery (no Panasonics). IF, however, you experience strong cranking but late ignition, that's remediable at a dealer with an ECM reflash. But don't waste time setting that up if you simply need a new battery or contact cleaning. Best, Ern TSG/B
2010 Outback here. SAME ISSUE! Resolved now, after countless intermittent issue (happening) & diagnostics at a few places. The code finally came up for the malfunctioning/misfiring: P0335 OBD-II Trouble Code: Crankshaft Position Sensor "A" Circuit Malfunction. FINALLY a code appeared! --- Battery, alternator, ignition switch, fuel pump --- all are fine. The parts+labor at the Subaru dealership was approx. 420 USD. Not bad for peace of mind. My Subaru is older, though, approaching 175K but I love this car. Other than this problem, it runs fine and I drive A LOT (est. 38K per year).
