oil low

just put 2650 mi on new outback, already 1/2 qt. low. Is that normal for a new car/break in period?    I did 2 long trips on interstate, speeds of 75 avg. Temps on interstates was hot, 90s,also around town, (fla). New car came with synthetic oil. Thanks
