ok there to many cables....one of them its only has one core and the other as 2 cables

Review what I wrote

Look for a + (positive) and an - (negative) on the battery near the cable connections. As stated earlier, the ground cable will connect directly from the - (negative) terminal to somewhere on the car body--likely the firewall (toward the passenger compartment). Process of elimination would make the other terminal the + (positive) side.
