Will a 90's 300zx fuel pump work in a 85 300zx?

& the 85 is a 2+2, non turbo, A.

I wouldn't put a 15 to 25 year old fuel pump on a car regardless. Buy a new one. I know, easy for me to say it's not my money but just doesn't seem right. It's inside the gas tank and too much work for it to just fail again
