1987 Nissan 300zx fuel pump won't come on

Are you sure it is fuel and not fire?
Yes. It will turn over fine but when you turn the key on the fuel pump doesn't kick on.
This may have a fuse too. It also probably has an inertia switch which is usually located in the trunk or at the right kick panel on passenger side at your foot. This trips if you are in an accident to shut off fuel. Also look under the rear seat at the harness for the pump.Sometimes the wires will corrode for the fuel pump at the harness plug in.
The inertia switch can trip itself if bad.Doesn't have to be in an accident.
I can't seem to find an inertia switch. And mine doesn't have a backseat. But I don't see any corroded wires.
You either have a broken wire/unplugged at fuel pump or the pump you installed was bad in the box new.
I did the same thing I put new fuel pump and did not work after too much work looking at fusses andchacking everything it did not work ..I was about to quit after all that I found the problem it was the green relay by the battery the my fuel pump start working awesome hope it helps
I have an 86 300 z turbo. Turns over fine has power to fuel pump. For some reason theres power to both fuel pump wires. I thought one was a ground? How ever if I run two wires from battery to fuel pump out side the car and hook them up. It pumps fuel ????
