2000 Durango won't start after stopping for gas

Asked by Klhd2000 Jul 15, 2018 at 06:50 PM about the 2000 Dodge Durango SLT 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2000 Durango 4.7 ran pretty well for the most
part all of a sudden today it won't start anymore
after stopping at the gas station I came back k out
went to start the car and nothing no sounds no
lights no nothing . I got out and messed with the
terminals and the lights inside came on  but when.
I went to start it it clicked and the lights went back
off. I put my battery on a charger and it's fully
charged after a few minutes so my battery is not
the issue. Does anyone have any suggestions

If lights came on after messing with terminals there is corrosion between terminals and post. Remove terminals and clean to get better connection.

Could be more than one issue,First how old is the battery? if it's 4 years old or older it's time for a replacement. Second, fuel acts like a coolant for the fuel pump,if it still cranks and no start after replacing battery, check if you hear the fuel pump cycle when you turn on the key, if not, you could have a fuel pump/wiring issue.
