Key Fob not working after reassembly.

Asked by AJ Mar 22, 2017 at 08:43 PM about the 2013 Dodge Avenger R/T FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Dropped my key fob earlier and it broke apart sending the battery flying
somewhere. I went and replaced the battery and holding the fob together it
works just fine, but the moment I close the plastic casing back around the
key it doesnt work anymore. It will literally work just fine up until I click the
plastic closed and then it wont work at all. Anyone have any ideas as to
what could be causing the plastic to stop it from working?

Thanks.

Tom, all contacts are as they should be and are making contact as best as I can tell. Like I said, the fob works perfectly when I simply hold it together in my hand but the moment I click the plastic back together it doesn't do anything.
